The AutoCAD file formats were originally designed to be compatible with earlier versions of AutoCAD and to the most current version AutoCAD LT. History

Drafting and Design

AutoCAD includes a comprehensive set of design tools, including the ability to create and modify 2D drawings and 3D drawings, and the ability to create 2D and 3D drawings, plot a 2D or 3D drawing, and annotate 2D or 3D drawings. 3D drafting is available as a stand-alone feature.

User preferences
