A professional is someone with many years of experience using Photoshop. If you are not sure about Photoshop, it is not a good idea to start using it. Getting Started with the Photoshop Layers Palette

Photoshop's layers feature makes it easy to blend together and manipulate images. Layers are a way of controlling the transparency of an image. Without layers, it would be difficult to control the transparency of your image because you would have to fill your image with white, which is a color without any transparency.

You can have as many layers as you want, and you can group or ungroup them for easier access and manipulation. When you group layers together, they appear as one entity on the Layers palette. When you ungroup layers, you can make them appear on the Layers palette individually.

Layers act like the final word on how a photo is to appear. They're used to "lock" or "unlock" one or more layers in a certain position. Unlocking layers lets you drag them over other layers.

Here's how to get started:

1. Open an image in Photoshop.

2. On the Layers palette, you see the appearance of the image without any layers added.

To create a new layer, select New from the Layers palette.

3. You can also create a new layer directly from the Create Layer dialog box shown in the image in Figure 3-1.

Photoshop displays a blank white canvas. You can also begin with a layer by selecting Layer⇒New Layer.

4. With a Layer palette selection and with the Layers palette visible, click the New Layer button in the bottom-left corner of the Layers palette.

Photoshop adds a new layer to your image (refer to Figure 3-1).

5. Here you can give the new layer a descriptive name.

You can create more than one layer. In this exercise, you create two layers, which are visible on the Layers palette. One of them is the background and the other is your subject.

6. The easiest way to work with a layer is by clicking it. For example, double-click on the background layer and an icon of a camera appears

Unlike Photoshop, Photoshop Elements has no right-click menus, and is aimed at hobbyists and image editors looking to alter and retouch a picture. It is much more basic than the full version.

On Jan 16, David Lynch will be making his first public appearance since he released his new album on Jan 1. The other night, he spoke about a new David Lynch project, and he may have referred to it as a brand new Twin Peaks.

Lynch will be speaking at the Queen’s Park in Wellington, New Zealand and he will be talking about a new project he’s been working on. A promo for the event mentioned that he will be talking about the upcoming Twin Peaks Season 3 and the thought of that new album may have come up while he was speaking.

1. Field of the Invention
This invention relates to a device for monitoring the temperature of the catalyst bed of an SCR system for the combustion of H.sub.2 S in a waste gas, such as a tail gas produced in a CO shift process.
2. Description of the Prior Art
The catalyst bed of an SCR system for the combustion of H.sub.2 S in a waste gas contains catalyst components with a relatively high melting point. For the purpose of reliably operating the SCR system, it is necessary to maintain the temperature of the catalyst bed within a specified temperature range. When the temperature of the catalyst bed drops too low, the H.sub.2 S-SCR catalytic reaction cannot occur.
If the temperature of the catalyst bed is too high, the catalyst components may melt and become detached from the catalyst bed. In either case, a decrease in performance of the SCR system may be anticipated.
The temperature of the catalyst bed is always substantially lower than the temperature of the gases entering the catalyst bed. That is, the temperature in the catalyst bed is lower than the temperature of the gases leaving the catalyst bed. The temperature of the catalyst bed decreases, usually linearly, with a distance from the inlet. For example, when the temperature of the gases leaving the catalyst bed is 200.degree. C., the temperature in the catalyst bed may be in the range of 180.degree.-200.degree. C.
In order to maintain the catalyst bed at a desired temperature within the specified range, it has been common practice to measure the temperature of the catalyst bed by means of a thermocouple. It has been known to use an SCR process to remove H.sub.2 S from a CO shift waste gas. In such an SCR process, the catalyst bed contains liquid carbon, such as calcium carbonate, which is used to trap H.sub.2 S. In order to maintain the liquid carbon, the temperature of the catalyst bed must be maintained within a specified temperature range.
The temperature of the catalyst bed is commonly found to be lower than the temperature of the gases which enter the catalyst bed. Therefore, the temperature of the catalyst bed decreases from the position of the inlet towards the outlet.
If the SCR system is operated at low throughput and/or if the temperature of the gases entering the catalyst bed is high, the temperature in the catalyst bed may be too low to provide a desired H.sub.2 S removal efficiency. In
