C2DM setup

I would like to implement a C2DM client in a device which sends data to the server.
I implemented the server side using Google's C2DM implementation.
My question is

Is it OK if my client and the server are in different devices?
Is it OK if the "GCM_ID" of my client is different than my "token"?

These are the rules for using push notifications:

you can connect as many C2DM instances as you want
you cannot disconnect any of them without the proper server closing connections

You are allowed to send push notifications to multiple devices (even though each device is not allowed to send more than 100 notifications)
If you want to send 100 push notifications to a single device you should use the proper registration id provided by google
To sum up: No, it's not ok to have different tokens, different ids, different devices... All you have to have is one token per device.
