Detailed VOR Tapes Description

VOR Tapes feature many different user interfaces. The different interfaces can be used with any interface pack.

Interface selection is easy. Simply switch the recording mode you like to start working with and the "real" tape is loaded. The loaded tape is a real tape. It will be used for recording, saving, starting recording and stopping.

VOR Tapes can be used to start recording at any time. The tape is loaded fully automatically. So VOR Tapes behave exactly like a real tape recorder. VOR Tapes can be started more than once in a row. The playback is stored in a Buffer. The Buffer can be set to be fullscreened or not, saved for playback at any time.

1. Start Recording

Just click and the record is started automatically. You never missed any recording and the tape is not recorded empty. On the right side of the

VOR Tape 7.0 uses standard wav files. Just select a desired PCM or IMA ADPCM encoder.
All the encoders have presets which can be chosen in the control panel.
Save wav files to an already existing tape in the same way as a standard tape player.
An advanced time slice-buffer stores every sample moment you have played on your converter.
Fast, easy, and foolproof recorder and player. Simply select a sample rate and then press the record button.
Adjust start/stop position as often as you want, free of time axis.
Adjust both read/write head positions.
Select different PCM or IMA ADPCM encoders from presets included with VOR Tape.
Select how many, which and how long samples to play back.
Record and play with an internal timeslice buffer.
When you stop a recording with the record button, stop the recording when you press the play button.
Export the tape as a wav file to the current map where you started recording. The name of the file is stored in the wav file, so you can simply cut and paste the file name to stop and start the tape in a different location in the source map.
VOR Tape Options:
Sample rate: The sample rate is from 8 to 44 KHz.
End of tape position:
Delay: You can change the end of tape position by +/-50 ms.
Head positioning:
Read: 0
Write: 1
Selection of encoder:
10/11/22/32 kHZ: your PCM or IMA ADPCM options will be taken from these presets.
Adjust start / stop position:
Adjust time (seconds) between playback of a sample
Adjust time (seconds) between writing of a sample
Adjust time (seconds) between recordings
Playback position (seconds) between recordings
Adjust delay time (ms):
You can adjust the length of the delay time.
Start of playback time (s):
You can adjust the length of the delay time when you playback the sample
Selection of the head positioning:
A 1 head position will play the sample once.
A 2 head position will play the sample twice.
A 3 head position will play the sample thrice.
A 4 head position will play the sample 4 times.
A 5 head position will play the sample 5 times.

You’ve just made a new recording and saved to your harddisk but when you connect your tape recorder to your PC the PCS-60 will search for this new recording on the discs. However, when the PCS-60 plays the new recording the old recording remains in the buffer. The new recording has been overwritten by the old one and it starts playing the old one again. To overcome this problem you have to reset the PCS-60. In order for the PCS-60 to start working again properly you need to remove the tape from the spindle. This is only possible while the PCS-60 is open.

Now that you’ve removed the tape from the spindle you can close the PCS-60. Now select the disc that you want to play from the disc tray and the PCS-60 will start playing from that disc. That is you can now make more recordings
